6G BBQ | API Security Hands-on Workshop / Espoo, 13.6.2023

Tietoturvamaailman ehkäpä kuumin trendi tällä hetkellä on ohjelmistorajapintojen (API) suojaus. Myös Gartner on ennustanut rajapintojen olevan yleisin hyökkäysvektori jo tänä vuonna.

Aihe on kuuma, mutta niin ovat suojausmekanismitkin: Järjestämme API-suojauksen hands-on workshopin tiistaina 13.6.2023 klo 10-13, johon mahtuu vain 10 nopeinta mukaan.

Järjestämme tilaisuuden yhteistyössä SALT Securityn kanssa, joka on yksi johtavista APIen suojaukseen keskittyneistä ratkaisuista.

Workshop on maksuton, ja se on tarkoitettu yksityisen ja julkisen sektorin tietoturva-asiantuntijoille.

 

API SECURITY & THREAT HUNTING WORKSHOP

 

GOALS

  • Demonstrate how easy it is to perform API attacks and create awareness that in most situations customers are not capable of detecting these attacks.
  • Introduce best practices to API security, educate how to protect APIs in practice, and show how SALT interacts with customer’s environment.

CONTENT

  • Theory: Learn why API Security needs a new approach, and how to implement an API security strategy
  • Theory: Get an overview and demo of the Salt Security product and features
  • Hands-on (~90 minutes): Get a taste of hacking APIs and protecting them through a set of live hands-on lab exercises: The hands-on lab exercise will guide the attendee through send and manipulate API traffic to a vulnerable website that has been set up in AWS. Attendees can then see the effects of attacks, then protect those APIs and set up integrations with the edge connectivity to block attackers and set alerts.

PRE-REQUISITE

  • Attendees need to bring a laptop
  • A secondary screen like a tablet for the lab guide is useful but not required
  • Recommended experience: Security Engineer / Security Architect
  • No API developer experience needed as the attendees will be guided through the program step by step with an elaborate lab guide
